Quote of the Day

Another day and another Quote of the Day. As I think about how I carry some of the loads that I have dealt with I am reminded of just how different and unique each of us are. For instance, I have no doubt that there are topics and things I struggle with on my journey that other people would look at and the resolution seems so obvious… just do it like this. Yet, it is not that simple for me. My brain works differently, I respond to things differently and so their advice is not so easy to follow. Reversely, there are things that I hear people talk about struggling with and to me it seems like such a simple solution. It is a good reminder that while others might have similar goals or they might desire to make a similar change to ours. That doesn’t mean all our paths to get there are the same. It is far too easy to see someone else’s success with something and to try and duplicate their every step so we too can have that success. One of the toughest aspects on the road to making changes is to take someone else’s success not as a how-to but as a workbook to be examined. We work through each lesson and step to try and decipher the lesson, the mindset or the approach that helped them form their successful path. Then we must try and apply that lesson or mindset in a way that makes sense to us so we can then slowly explore and find our path through that wilderness. When we take someone else’s path as a how-to we cheat ourselves because while we have this defined path to place our feet exactly where someone else’s have been what happens when inevitably our paths diverge for one reason or another. If we haven’t built a new way of thinking then we lack the tools to make forward progress when we can no longer see their footsteps on our path. Take a few minutes today and make sure you are carrying your load in the best way that makes sense for you. It won’t be easy and might require trial and error but I guarantee the results are worth it. Have a blessed day, y’all! Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy another beautiful day.

It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it
