Another day and another Quote of the Day. I talk a lot about the power of the words we choose to use both with ourselves and when we talk with others. This is another illustration of that concept. Before I started my journey I spent years wishing for change, hoping for things to be different. I would see other people succeeding and wish I were that lucky. I’d blame circumstance, situations, or even destiny. I had convinced myself that life is what happened to me. I told myself I had no control. Thankfully I was given the opportunity to change my improper thinking. I had to get myself to a point where I could accept that all the things about my life that were making me upset, sad, or frustrated were a result of my decisions and choices. I wasn’t a victim of circumstance. I was a victim of my own poor choices. When I finally took ownership of that I also began to understand that if the choices that put me here were of my own making, then my own choices could also help lead me out of this wilderness. It was during this transition that I heard the saying, “We are all self made but only the successful admit it.” That really hit home to me. It was easy to make poor choices when I could blame someone or something else for outcomes I didn’t like. It became much more real and my decisions carried more weight when I accepted that they also came with consequences. Take the opportunity today to quit looking for someone to blame and choose a better path. I can wait it for you, but I can not do it for you. Have a blessed day, y’all! Stay safe, stay dry and enjoy another beautiful day.
