Quote of the Day 05/03/2019

Here we are… we made it to the end of another work week and another Quote of the Day. I think this quote is mostly dead on except that I feel it is missing something. To me, I would amend this idea to read, “Health is a balanced relationship between you and your body.”  I think it speaks to an old adage I have heard my whole life, “All things in moderation.” The idea behind both is simple… balance. It is hard to have health without balance. If I only ever focus on fixing the physical parts of my healthier lifestyle and choose to ignore the mental, emotional or spiritual aspects of my life no matter how improved my medical numbers become I will never feel “healthy.” The reverse is also true. If I spend all my time and effort to address the mental, emotional or spiritual aspects of what a healthier lifestyle looks like to me I will still be missing out on so many blessings and positive experiences that come from a more improved physical life. For me, to truly find all the blessings, peace of mind and glory that I am designed for requires me to address both sides, the physical and the metaphysical. I am not a one dimensional person so my approach to a healthier lifestyle needs to be multi-dimensional as well. Lets not forget another important aspect of these ideas… relationships. Like any good relationship it requires regular attention and consistent effort to make it a strong, healthy, lasting relationship. It means doing the small things and not just grand gestures. It means I need to pay attention. If you’re starting to get the impression that change is a long complicated process you’re not wrong. I will never promise you that the road you are on will be easy, simple, or straight. What I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, however, is that you are worth the journey. Take the first step, do something today with what you can, with where you are to make all your tomorrows better. Have a blessed day, y’all! Stay safe stay warm, enjoy another beautiful day and have an incredible weekend.
